Pros: Remarkable data visualization capabilities, high performance, easy-to-use features, thriving community, multiple data source connections, and mobile-friendliness.
Cons: Considering the budgets of the small businesses, it is relatively expensive to work with Tableau as the license is quite extravagant. Also, there isn’t any flexibility in the list of premium costs that the company has put out. The software does not feature good after-sales support, and hence it is not recommended to track the info related to post-sales. The software fails to provide centralized security for the data included, despite the tool’s deep concern for the safety of the users. This has made the users more vulnerable to getting hacked anytime, anywhere.”
Edward Mellet of WikiJob adds, “Based on my experience, I utilize the Tableau dashboard software program because it is one of the most popular analytics dashboards, and Salesforce’s acquisition of Tableau could further improve it. As the market share and sophistication of the Tableau dashboard application developed, it drew the attention of several larger competitors. Google Data Studio is a business dashboard app that is designed for small businesses that are looking for a free way to expand the functionality of Google Analytics. With Data Studio, you can pull in data from Google Ads, Google Sheets, Google Analytics, along with a few dozen free and paid data source integrations to create custom dashboards.
I like Google Data Studio for the simple fact that it integrates easily with Google Analytics and other data sources that we use,” says Alex Milosh of Atera. “It was a challenge for us to get all of our data in one place before, but Data Studio has made it much easier. Despite being acquired by Google in 2019 for a whooping $2.6 billion, it is an all-in-one business intelligence solution that works with almost any tech stack you can imagine, including Google Cloud Platform, AWS, BigQuery, Snowflake, and 50+ SQL databases.
Robert Zeglinski of Breaking Muscle says, “I use the Looker dashboard software app since it is an effective combination of comprehensive analytics and usability. As a result of its real-time dashboards, Looker has seen a dramatic increase in its user base. The nimble core of the system is designed to work seamlessly with a wide range of cloud-based data tools.”

Zoho Analytics is a business dashboard app that is designed for small and mid-sized businesses that are using the Zoho suite of products.With both cloud and on-prem solutions, it is a solid business intelligence alternative to Tableau or Looker for companies with smaller budgets. It is also one of the easier tools to use.
When it comes to data analytics dashboards, there is often a decision to be made between deep complexity, which enables the generation of the most sophisticated reports, and simplicity of use, which enables robust functionality even for users who have never had any training in data science,” says Jeff Mains of Champion Leadership Group LLC. “When it comes to simplicity of use, Zoho is unequivocally on the winning side. Along the same lines, its price is reasonable in contrast to the prices of other leading options in the dashboard market.
Anthony Chen of Kaizenzo adds, “The type of dashboard software will vary depending on your business goals and what metrics you’re looking to measure. We can easily recommend Zoho Reports which are competitively priced, has an intuitive dashboard, and a good range of KPIs that measure key metrics.
If you’re a sizeable company that deals with large amounts of data, you should strongly consider using Tableau, which can help companies visualize big data intuitively.”
Matomo Analytics is a business dashboard app that is completely free, open source, and designed to be a privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics. Besides data privacy and control, another key selling point is that they don’t implement any data sampling.
Gavin Johnson of EV Cable Shop says, “With the use of this software, users may design a dashboard that they can customize and set up widgets to collect data on user interactions with their website. About 100 widgets are already included by default in this software, and more can be added via plug-ins. You can monitor the performance of numerous websites on your dashboard if you use Matomo. Running an A/B test on landing pages to see which performs better is another way to enhance your websites. Matomo provides optional tracking of 404 pages in addition to automated tracking of file downloads. In order to better understand visitor needs and improve conversions of available traffic, it also enables users to see conversion funnels.”
While Google Analytics isn’t a true business dashboard app, you can turn reports into simple dashboards.
Since Data Studio has a relatively steep learning curve, many marketers who just need basic dashboards create them in Google Analytics for free.For instance, Andrew Ruditser of Maxburst says, “The best dashboard software in the SEO industry is Google Analytics. Google Analytics is the world’s most popular website statistics service that offers the latest updates on visitor and traffic information. One of the most important features of this tool is that it’s free and can be accessed by any user with a Google account.”
Databox integrates with Google Analytics, allowing you to pull all data from GA with a click of a button instead of navigating through GA’s complex UI or spending hours on creating reports manually.
Microsoft BI is a business dashboard app that is designed for mid-market and enterprise businesses that are using Office365, Azure, and Teams. While there is a steep learning curve, it is an extremely powerful and customizable data analytics and visualization. It is most often used by data analysts, IT developers, and c-level executives.
For example, Joe Troyer of ReviewGrower says, “I utilize the Microsoft Power BI dashboard software tool because Microsoft provides the preeminent dashboard solution, making it the preferred option for corporate users.
It’s also worth noting that the company’s Power BI product costs just $10 per user per month, and it’s currently included in the latest edition of Office 365, which means that most commercial users already have it. Recently acquired by Epicor, Grow is an up-and-coming business dashboard app in the no-code ecosystem. You can connect data from apps like Airtable, Asana, Freshbooks, Google Ads, and Amazon Redshift and use it to build dashboards without having to code.
Matt Weidle of Buyersguide.org says, “Through the use of dashboards, Grow helps businesses to become data-driven and accelerate growth. There are many ways to bring together disparate data sets from a variety of apps and services using Grow’s data visualization tools.
Grow is compatible with numerous third-party applications, including Salesforce, QuickBooks Online, HubSpot, and Shopify. Using Grow’s data consultants, consumers are able to build the dashboard and resolve any issues that may emerge.”
While Grow offers a free trial, the only way to find out their pricing is to contact sales.

With a SQL Editor, Visual Explorer, Embedded Analytics, and Reports and Dashboards, is a true enterprise-level data analytics and visualization tool that is meant for data scientists and used by big brands like Shopify, Cash App, and Greenhouse.
For instance, Georgi Todorov of Thrive My Way says, “MODE streamlines analyst workflows, so it dramatically reduces the time spent to see usable data. It also makes it easies to share actionable data insights and stories across entire organizations. Mode offers a 14-day free trial. However, they don’t list their pricing on their website.
Similar to Mode and GoodData, Datadog is another enterprise-level business dashboard app. However, this tool is specifically meant for monitoring and security, with features broken out by infrastructure, APM, and digital experience.
“Datadog is a web-based network monitoring tool that enables users to automate infrastructure monitoring, track application performance, reduce problem resolution time, and foster team collaboration,” says Jenny of Wanderly.
“Using drag-and-drop graphs and widgets, this software allows you to create real-time interactive dashboards. Users of Datadog can utilize synthetic testing to monitor the performance of their application programming interface from the back end to the front end, as well as across different network levels.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is used in these tests to discover and create notification warnings for serious errors. Another important Datadog feature is log management, which allows users to collect, manage, and analyze logs for troubleshooting and data analysis. This feature assisted me in solving major business challenges.
