In January of 2017, as a mom of two and with very little planned for what would come next, Georgiana Laudi decided to leave her job as VP of Marketing at Unbounce.

She’d seen great success after leading marketing there for five years. From the days of only 15 employees collaborating one-on-one with co-founder Oli Gardner through the days of 200 employees and being named one of the fastest growing companies in Canada–Laudi played a big role.

Now she wanted to pass on what she’d learned.

She’d always had a passion for SaaS and saw an opportunity to bring executive level experience to a space that badly needed it.

She launched her own consultancy, A Better Customer Experience, to do just that.

She also launched Forget the Funnel, free weekly workshops featuring industry leaders aimed at helping SaaS marketers be more effective in their jobs.

Also through her consultancy, Laudi offers free strategy calls to women and other underrepresented founders of tech companies.

Laudi is someone I’ve known from her time at Unbounce, so after learning of her career moves through her Medium post, I had to reach out and invite her to tell her story on Ground Up.

I learned that the post was essentially an accident. It started as a Facebook post, and based on the overwhelming response, she then posted it to Medium.

Our discussion ranged from the personal revelations that resulted in her leaving Unbounce, to the things she learned during her five years leading marketing there, and finally, how she’s passing it all on.
