Let’s face it––sometimes the metrics available by default in the tools we use just aren’t enough. Sometimes, we need to dig deeper into performance to make sense of trends and really understand how our teams are performing.
You know this. That’s why so many of our users have been asking for the ability to create custom metrics using their performance data from Pipedrive CRM, HubSpot CRM, and HubSpot Marketing.
We listened. And now, we’re excited to launch Metric Builder for all 3 of these tools. Read on for the specifics on how each one works.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
Metric Builder for Pipedrive CRM allows you to dig deeper into your Pipedrive data using advanced filtering in Databox or custom filters set in your Pipedrive CRM account.
You now have four new tabs in the Pipedrive CRM Metric Builder at your disposal –
To report on ongoing won or lost deals during the specified date range, selected the “Deals” tab in the Pipedrive CRM Metric Builder.
Here, you can also access Deals-specific data created by a custom filter set for the metric within your Pipedrive CRM account.
For example, if you wanted to report on deals won by a specific team, you’d want to create a custom filter in Pipedrive CRM with multiple conditions matching the owner to each team member. You can then pull the right deals data into a Databox metric or dashboard filtered by team.

To report on emails, calls, meetings, tasks, and other activities during a specified date range, select the “Activities” tab in Metric Builder.
Here, you can also access activities-specific data created by a custom filter set for the metric within your Pipedrive CRM account.
For example, if you wanted to report on meetings added by a location, you’d want to create a custom filter in Pipedrive CRM where the custom field = location. You can then pull the activities data into Databox for meetings by location.

To report on organizations-based metrics like open deals count, email messages count, people count, undone activities count, files count, and similar for a specific group of organizations during a specified date range, select the “Organizations” tab.
Here, any custom metric built will return a list of organizations and their associated metric values. The only organizations that will be returned satisfy the parameters outlined in the filter(s). Filters can be added to differentiate between individual organizations or metric values.
You can also access Organizations-specific data created by a custom filter set for the metric within your Pipedrive CRM account.
For example, if you wanted to report on count of organizations in a specific industry, you’d want to create a custom filter in Pipedrive CRM where custom field = industry. You can then pull the count of organizations data into Databox to report on with that filter.

To report on persons-based metrics like lost deals count, email messages count, done activities count, files count, followers count, etc., for a specific group of persons during a specified date range, select the “Persons” tab.
Each custom metric built using “Persons” will return a list of persons and their associated metric values. The only persons that will be returned are those that satisfy the parameters outlined in the filter(s). Filters can be added to differentiate between individual persons or metric values.
You can also access persons-specific data created by a custom filter set for the metric within your Pipedrive CRM account.
For example, if you wanted to report on count of persons by a specific job title, you’d want to create a custom filter in Pipedrive CRM where custom field = job title. You can then pull the count of persons data into Databox to report on with that filter.

And… Here’s that special new feature we promised.
With the Pipedrive Filter Field, you can create a custom filter in your Pipedrive account and set conditions that allow users to apply additional filters to your metrics. This new option can be applied to all tabs: Deals, Activities, Organizations, and Persons.
With our new Metric Builder for HubSpot CRM, you can now create custom HubSpot CRM Metrics using a combination of Metrics, Dimensions, and Filters.
This enables you to track metrics around your company’s attributes that include industry, country, size, MRR, etc. You will also be able to visualize data using default and custom date fields (created date, subscription start date, last engagement date, etc.
As you know, having the right search filters in place enables you to get to specific data a lot faster. Now you will be able to use filters to search for companies that meet certain criteria, for example, companies whose size is greater than 50.
When implementing this upgrade, we made sure it’s easy and quick to get the data you need for your HubSpot CRM dashboards.
To access Metric Builder for HubSpot Marketing, log in to your Databox account and navigate to Metrics > Metric Builder, click the green + Create Custom Metric button and select your connected HubSpot CRM Account from the Data Source drop-down list. Finally – select the Companies radio button.
