What is "Reach"?
Reach is a metric that measures the unique number of people who have seen your Facebook ad. It tells you how many people in your target audience have been exposed to your ad on their Facebook newsfeed or sponsored posts. It includes both organic and paid reach and is an important metric to track as it helps you understand the potential impact and effectiveness of your ad. Reach can also help you optimize your ad targeting, budget and bidding strategies to ensure that your ads reach the right audience and generate the desired results.
Example: A pet food company uses Reach to determine the number of unique users who saw their sponsored post about a new product in a specific geographic area.

  • The metric ‘Reach’ shows different values in Databox compared to the Instagram Business User Interface

The metric ‘Reach’ shows the same daily values in Databox as in the Instagram Business User Interface. However, Databox calculates the metric value on top of the chart (the so-called Big Number) by summing the daily values, while the Big Number that’s visible on Instagram is not a sum, but rather a unique value for that period. As a result, discrepancies can appear between the values in Databox and those in the Instagram Business User Interface.
Instagram Business data is synced via Facebook Pages, so the behavior of the Instagram Business ‘Reach’ metric is similar to the behavior of the Facebook Pages ‘Reach’ metric. More information on these metric characteristics is available in Why Page Reach’ is different in Databox vs Facebook.
