Premio transitioned from manual spreadsheets to smarter operations by using Databox to centralize data, improve visibility, and streamline decision-making.
Thilina is the Chief Operating Officer, and Jeffrey is the IT Operations Manager at Premio Urban Mobility, a premium chauffeur service based in Dubai. Since 2018, Premio has catered to elite clientele through 5-star hotels, concierge services, private airlines, corporate accounts, and major events. With a highly trained fleet of chauffeurs and luxury vehicles, Premio sets itself apart as a bespoke urban mobility solution
When Thilina joined Premio, one of the most pressing challenges he faced was data visibility across departments. With each function operating in silos – from HR and finance, to sales and operations – tracking KPIs across disparate Excel sheets was inefficient and unsustainable.
“Dubai is a fast-paced city with a competitive landscape. We needed to be on top of our data to stay ahead,” said Thilina. Without real-time insights, the team couldn’t make timely decisions or clearly understand performance.
Jeffrey echoed this, describing their old process as “old-school documentation.”
“We were building dashboards in Excel and sharing files manually. It was time-consuming and hard to manage,” he said.
Thilina began exploring tools that could offer better dashboard functionality, especially for their CRM. While he considered a few options, Databox stood out. “The moment I realized I could connect the CRM and create metrics that made sense, I knew this was it,” he recalled.
Premio started small, implementing Databox for CRM insights. As the team saw its potential, they expanded usage function by function: commercial, marketing, finance, HR, and finally, the most complex: operations.
Despite a few early learning curves, including integrating custom metrics from niche platforms they were using, both Thilina and Jeffrey found the support team at Databox helpful. “They even offered a live session to train me on building custom metrics,” said Thilina.
Now, Jeffrey builds and maintains dashboards that pull data from various tools and Google Sheets. Even functions like IT, which aren’t tied to a dedicated software, are included. “We just extract the data, put it in the database, and it reflects in an hour,” he explained.
Databox has transformed how Premio operates:
“The quality of the data and the decisions I make have improved,” said Thilina. “Data should tell a story. Databox helps us identify, analyze, and share that story with stakeholders.”
“If Databox were taken away, I’d stop receiving my daily reports. It would take months to rebuild what we have now,” said Thilina. “I definitely recommend Databox, but you need to understand KPIs first. Knowing what you want to measure makes all the difference.”
