Jira is a powerful project management tool that facilitates tracking and organizing tasks, issues, and projects. It offers collaboration, workflow automation, customizable dashboards, and reporting features to streamline and enhance team productivity.
Jira is designed to help teams of all types better manage their work. It’s a powerful tool that was first used to track software issues and bugs and has evolved into a leading project management tool for many use cases, ranging from test case management to agile software development.
With Databox, you’re able to connect to Jira and build dashboards that show, for example, how effectively your team detects, manages, and resolves issues and bugs that crop up during software development and use. You can compare the number of new issues to the number of issues resolved, see which projects require more work, and much more. In addition, Databox enables you to track metrics from multiple data sources, such as customer success platforms, in a single dashboard. This enables your teams to work better together and affords more transparency across your organization.
Custom reports available with the use of Databox Metric Builder.

To connect and use a Jira Account in Databox, you must have ‘Global’ permissions in Jira. If you do not have ‘Global’ user permissions, you will receive an ‘Authentication Failed’ error.

Single Sign-in Option (SSO) is currently not supported.
When using Filters in Metric Builder for Jira to specify the data that gets included in the Custom metric, only the first 15 Values returned via the API will be displayed in the Value drop-down list. Follow these steps to determine the exact Filter Value and manually enter it into the Value field.
When creating a Custom metric with ‘issues’ data in the Jira Metric Builder, only the first 4,000 issues will be returned, with results paginated across 40 pages showing 100 records each via API calls. If there are more than 4,000 issues available in the Jira account, only the top 4,000 will be displayed.
To verify values for Basic metrics in Jira, use the Filters > Advanced Issue Search in the Jira User Interface. Depending on the metric you want to verify, you can apply the following filters:
The total value for a specific metric will be displayed in the upper right corner of the User Interface screen (e.g. if the results show ‘1 of 7’, it means there are a total of 7 issues).
For metrics categorized by attributes (for example by status), each category (status) needs to be selected individually to check the valid number for each category.
Using the Metric Builder for Jira, you can create Custom metrics for Jira. If you select a dimension that represents a Custom Field in Jira with the type ‘User Picker (multiple users)’ in the process of creating a Custom metric, Databox will display each user as a separate dimension. This is a limitation for users that need to show multiple users assigned to a single issue within one dimension.
Example how Databox handles this data:
user#1: 14
user#2: 14
user#3: 14
VS
all users in the same row (as a single Dimension): user#1, user#2, user#3: 14
